Have you noticed how cats always seem to be attracted to boxes? Out of all those cat videos that keep your eyes glued to the screen far longer than you’d care to admit, you probably have seen some small and big cats trying their best to snuggle into big and too-little cardboard boxes.
But what makes our furry friends so content about being in a box? Veterinary Scientists from the University of Utrecht have spent much time looking for answers.
In the video below, they observed how different cats behave when as they encounter a box.
So what did the scientists find in their observation? In a nutshell, “cats benefit greatly from the ability to hide when stressed, at least on the short term.”
