Producers from a TV show in Cambodia tricked this American teen into believing she was going to reunite with her long-lost mother. But what transpired next is one of the cruelest things you’ll see on live TV.
Thirteen-year-old Autumn Allen was invited to the Penh Chet Ort – Like It Or Not – show for a Mother’s Day special. Once at the show, she was called onto the stage where producers claimed she was about to meet her mother, a woman she had not seen since her father brought her back to Cambodia from the US.
The emotional teenager cried as she explained the story to the audience: “She held me and kissed me and told me that she would always love me.” But instead of a heartfelt reunion, Autumn was instead introduced to a cross-dressing comedian who was supposed to be her mother. The poor girl was crushed.
After airing this cruel prank, social media exploded, with many commenters slamming the show for its cruelty.
