He Wrote This Song 44 Years Ago, But When He Hears It Sung Like This, He Cried

Led Zeppelin is one of my favorite bands, and “Stairway to Heaven” is probably one of the best songs ever composed. So every time I come across this beautiful tribute, it always brings me to tears.

“Stairway to Heaven” was recently performed by two members of Heart; Ann and Nancy Wilson for the Kennedy Center Honors 2012. Everything about this performance is spectacular. It very well maybe the best tribute ever. I was choking when I saw Robert Plant’s eyes glazed with tears as the song came to a finish. Simply remarkable. Watch:
