Mysterious Anomaly Spotted in Great Pyramid of Giza, Scientists Looking For Answers

Archeologists scanning the ancient pyramids of Giza have discovered several mysterious ‘anomalies’ in the 4,500-year-old structures, Egyptian Minister of Antiquities Mamdouh el-Damaty announced Monday.

According to news reports, thermal cameras detected higher than expected temperatures in three adjacent stones at the bottom of the structure. The infrared team detected one “particularly impressive” anomaly on the eastern side of the Khufu pyramid, which is over 4,500 years old, and the largest Pyramid ever built.

The experts carried out thermal scanning at all times of the day, including during sunrise as the sun heats the structures from the outside and then during sunset as the pyramids are cooling down.

“The teams have concluded the existence of several thermal anomalies that were observed on all monuments during the heating up or the cooling down phases. To explain such anomalies, a lot of hypothesis and possibilities could be drawn up, and we are investigating,” experts said in a statement.

“All anomalies detected and data collected will now be subject to further treatment and data analysis. In the next stage of the project, the team will start “3-D modeling and simulations of the Giza plateau,” Al-Damati, told reporters at a press conference,
