An enraged Mississippi man was arrested after he shot and killed a Waffle House waitress early Friday. The reason? She asked him not to smoke.
According to investigators, Johnny Mount was eating about 1 a.m. at the restaurant in Biloxi, Mississippi, when he lit a cigarette. That’s when the 52-year-old waitress politely asked him to put out the cigarette or smoke outside. He began arguing with her, reported WLOX-TV.
“Mount then pulled out a 9 mm handgun he had concealed under his shirt and shot the waitress in the head. She was taken to a nearby hospital but died from her wounds,” Police said.
Within minutes of the incident, Mount was arrested as he tried to leave the restaurant. He has been charged with first-degree murder.
