Whales exhibit a wide range of fascinating behaviors, from spy-hoping and tail slapping, to including cooperative behavior, which helps to ensure that groups are successful. There are also well substantiated reports of whales rescuing humans and even encouraging swimmers play with them.
Australian whale watchers Emi-Rose Curtis and Brad Nicholls are no strangers to their social behavior. But even they were amazed at the incredible encounter they had with two large Humpback Whales near Gold Coast Seaway.
“We were just playing around underwater with the GoPros and all of a sudden there was something much larger than a turtle there,” Emi-Rose told ABC News.
She wrote in the YouTube video description: “They were singing to us and gentle touching us with their pectoral fins and head. My heart was so full of love at that moment.”
