Watch The Largest Glacier Event Ever Captured On Film

A dramatic video showing the moment ‘The Bridge’ at Argentina’s Perito Moreno glacier collapses has emerged online. The amazing footage was captured on Thursday as large chunks of ice break off and tumble into the water.

It’s is not the first time this phenomenon has been captured on video. On May 28, 2008, researchers in Western Greenland captured the largest glacier calving event ever captured on film. Scroll further to watch it below.

In the following video, Adam LeWinter and Jeff Orlowski captured a historic ice breakup at the Ilulissat Glacier in Western Greenland. It’s the largest glacier calving ever recorded, and it has been called “an event of apocalyptic proportion.”
