When Skye owner decided to go let her off the leash during a snowstorm, she suddenly vanished into thin air. The seven-year-old golden retriever literally disappeared in the snow. But after two days of nonstop searching, they discovered the shocking truth.
While searching near the Arboretum at Penn State, Skye’s family heard faint barking coming from below the ground. They were shocked to discover the poor pup was trapped at the bottom of a 15-foot sinkhole!
But despite spending two days alone in that dark hole, the resilient pup didn’t give up hope. When firefighters arrived on the scene, she greeted them wagging her tail and staring back at them. After carefully lowering a ladder, Assistant Chief Dennis Harris made his way down to the terrified dog and hoisted her out.
