The Iowa Tribe’s annual powwow is one of the most amazing traditional celebrations in the state. It is a warrior’s dance. In this particular occasion, these Native American decided to invite another warrior to perform the traditional war dance in a symbolic gesture to honor a fellow dancer and veteran: United States Marine Lance Cpl. Marland Trey Kent.
The audience had no idea that what they were about to witness was going to be one of the most amazing collisions of two worlds. As the Marine stands in attention next to a Native American, dressed in full celebration attire, the drums began to beat and soon became obvious that the two were dancing together as warriors brothers. God bless the Marines, and God bless the Native Americans of our country!
