With all the negative news surrounding police officers lately, it is refreshing to see the kindness of the men in blue on full display for the world to see.
For any parent or caregiver of a child with autism, the challenges of this mental condition are always present. While autistic children are often loving, content and at ease with the world in which they live, they can also become easily agitated when having difficulty communicating with other people.
Such was the case for young Bubba from Tennessee. His mother, Christy Richardson, was at her wits’ end, unable to pacify her son in his upset state. She was desperate and knew of one way to calm his nerves: by calling in police officers because Bubba absolutely loves officers.
When Deputy Loftis of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office was called to Bubba’s home but when the deputy arrived on the scene, no one expected him to get down in the middle of the driveway and start doing push-ups. But that’s exactly what happened! Thankfully, it was caught in a viral photo that has taken the Internet by storm.
This photo shows a tremendous display of warmth and care. The image of Bubba and Deputy Loftis smiling and both engaging in push-ups together has gone completely viral, already shared and seen by thousands of people on social media and in the news.
This small gesture on the part of Deputy Loftis not only made a difference to Bubba and his mother, but it is now inspiring people around the world.
Kindness goes a long way. Pass it on!
