Veteran Reunites With His Military Dog For The First Time Since Coming Back From Afghanistan

Among all those who serve our country, some of them are actually trained service dogs. They stay alongside our troops deployed overseas. They are trained to spot underground bombs and alert when enemy is coming.

Both soldier and dog grow a special bond with each other while serving. Unfortunately, once veteran dogs have completed service they don’t always have homes or families to come back to.

Usually military dogs are put up for adoption once they’ve retired. Their fellow soldiers have first priority in adopting them, but that isn’t always the case. To be able to be reunited with a fellow companion is a complex and very expensive process.

Molly Oliver has come up with a solution to reunite soldiers with their canine companions. At her own expense, Oliver flies dogs to bring them back with their veteran friends. She has made this her life’s work.

Oliver says, “I love the dogs, and I love my military that’s taken care of my freedom my whole life. So it’s a win win to combine the two.”
