When Soldiers come back home families tend to get emotional. In this case it was the soldier who was left in shock when he saw his 6-year-old son walk for the first time.
Staff Sergeant Jeremy Cooney came home to a beautiful surprise. When he walked into a gym to surprise his family, he noticed his 6-year-old son, who has cerebral palsy, walking for the first time.
When Cooney had deployed he was unaware that his son had made huge progress and was learning how to walk. “When my husband left on his deployment, our 6-year-old son could not walk on his own. He has cerebral palsy. Doctors originally said that he would never walk or do much of anything. While daddy was away, he learned to walk. For his homecoming, we set it up for Michael to walk to his daddy for the first time ever! We kept the fact that he could walk a secret the whole time his dad was gone,” said his wife Melissa.
The video is very touching. Take a look for yourself below.
