A pizza shop in Ohio has taken the internet by storm after the owner posted a sign on the window offering free thanksgiving pizza for the homeless.
On regular days, Bada Bing! Pizzeria in Springfield, Ohio, just cranks out pizza pies and calzones. But this Thanksgiving, it’s taking on a different role: helping those who might be down on their luck and in need of a hand.

Bada Bing! owner Jason Hague “had already planned to host a Thanksgiving dinner in the shop for his friends, family, and his staff who didn’t have anywhere else to go.”
Then he thought: “Why not invite local homeless and hungry people too?” Minutes later, he put a sign in the window to get the word around.

“A lot of people don’t have families to go to, and there’s a lot of homeless here in Springfield. I think it’ll bring people together and just be a special time, ” Hague told Upworthy.
The photo of the sign quickly went viral on social media, and the community responded in a positive way. One customer — an elementary school-aged kid — has even “offered to perform magic tricks at dinner,” according to Hague.
“A lot of people, just like myself, we don’t really see what’s going on in the community when it comes to homelessness and poverty,” he said.

“Thanksgiving is one of those days that you want to spend time with your family and friends, but it’s also a time to give thanks for what you have, and we’ve been very blessed here,” Hague said.
Now that’s exactly what Thanksgiving is supposed to be. Please share if you agree.
