Thanks to the wondrous smell of sizzling sausages, these lost pups were able to find their way home.
Charlie and Theo, a pair of beautiful schnauzers, had lost their way when a thick fog overcame the family during a walk. Owners Graham and Liz Hampson were devastated after not finding their beloved dogs for quite some time afterwords.
The Hampson couple launched a rescue campaign for the lovely dogs, which was joined by several friends and family. Despite over 100 people joining to help, the pups were never found in the four-day search.
Despite that, the Hampson couple never gave up. They decided to camp out the night near where the dogs were last seen. They decided to cook some sausages to eat. Moments later, the couple were absolutely shocked.

Their beloved pets appeared right before them – drawn in by the scent of a hot snack. Mr and Mrs Hampson were more than happy to let everyone know that the search was over.
“When they first appeared it was like a mirage. I could not believe it was them. My husband ran up the hill to grab them as I was just shaking and crying. I could not function,” Liz told The Telegraph. “The dogs are just gorgeous, and they are part of our family. It would be horrible not to have them around.”
Mrs Hampson said that the two pups absolutely love sausages – it’s what they have every Sunday for breakfast.
“They have them every Sunday for breakfast, so if there was one food they were going to come back for, it was sausages.”
If anything, the couple is now joking about the whole situation.
“Charlie and Theo are actually dad and son so we’re now joking they had a father’s day weekend.”
How wonderful!
