Grandma Sends Thanksgiving Invitation Message To The Wrong Person, Invites Them Over Anyways

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we thought this would be the perfect story to tell.

It was on November 15th, when 17-year-old Jamal Hinton received a group text that had an invitation to a Thanksgiving dinner.

Hinton was confused because he didn’t have the numbers saved, so he asked who they were. The response he got was “Your grandma.”

At first he was puzzled, he was thinking that it could actually be his grandmother. But to make sure he asked the texter for a selfie.

But in response, Hinton asked if he could still come over for that Thanksgiving dinner.

That’s when this lovely grandma, who was in fact not Hinton’s grandma, responded with this thoughtful message:

After the funny, yet thoughtful misunderstanding, Jamal’s friend, Ronald, posted the screenshots of the conversation on twitter. It quickly went viral, receiving over 180,000 retweets and 300,000 likes.

Hinton recently told The Huffington Post that he went over Wanda’s home to meet her face-to-face. “She was really nice!” he told HuffPost. “A very funny, sweet lady.”

He also confirmed that he will be attending their Thanksgiving dinner, bringing a pumpkin pie to share with the family.
