The Surprising Link Between Laughter and Weight Loss


Have you been exercising and dieting, but still holding onto the pounds? Try laughing more.

Some researchers think laughter just might be the best medicine to help you achieve your bikini-body goals.

Of course, dealing with life’s stressful and saddening situations is much easier said than done. After all, you can’t solve all your problems by LOL. That said, laughter can help you battle anxiety, boost serotonin, and release endorphins, all of which will create a happier mood, healthier mind, awarding you with healthier looking skin, more energy and maybe a slimmer waist.

“I believe that if people can get more laughter in their lives, they are a lot better off, healthier and have slimmer bodies,” says Steve Wilson, MA, CSP, a psychologist and laugh therapist.

Yet researchers aren’t sure if it’s actually the act of laughing that makes people slimmer. A good sense of humor, a positive attitude, and the support of friends and family might play a role, too.

So keep a healthy diet and exercise, but don’t forget to laugh… a lot. LOL.
