An 11th grade English teacher resigned last week after she was accused of having sexual relations with a student at a Pennsylvania high school. Police said that Emily Nesbit, 31 admitted meeting an 18-year-old male student for sex in a classroom after hours at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg.
Nesbit was charged with institutional sex assault, a third-degree felony, on Friday, reported the Huffington Post. The Cumberland Valley School District announced in a statement that Nesbit resigned from her position Wednesday, after school officials learned of the allegations Monday.
Nesbit was interviewed by police later on Tuesday and admitted to performing the sex act with the student.
