A Sheriff’s Dashcam video captured suspects tossing bales of marijuana from their car during a chaotic high-speed chase in Arizona, reported the Raw Story.
A deputy was monitoring traffic along the highway near Trekell Road when he spotted a 2006 White Trailblazer traveling at high rate of speed and began pursuing it,
“The vehicle began to accelerate to speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour and the occupants began to throw bales of marijuana out of the vehicle onto the roadway,” Jim Knupp, a Pinal County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said.
The pursuit ended after units from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office put down spike strips in the Trailblazer’s path, which shredded the car’s tires, allowing police to take into custody 43-year-old Mario Perez-Paz and 21-year-old Juan Aguilar-Zavala.
Much of evidence was lost, as motorists who followed behind the chase stopped to pick up the drugs. Police say they still recovered over 375 pounds of the packaged marijuana.
The two men were charged with conspiring to transport drugs for sale and unlawful flight from law enforcement, according to the police report.
