What started like a normal day for Centerria Manning, who was 9-months pregnant and epileptic, suddenly turned into a life and death ordeal after she collapse to the floor in the midst of a seizure. But her 4-year old daughter was there to save her.
4-year-old Calise Manning is being called a hero for helping her pregnant mother and calling 911 operators in Kalamazoo, Michigan, last week.
In the 911 audio obtained by local TV station WWMT, Calise tells a dispatcher “She’s shaking and she’s having a baby. My mom is really pregnant and she’s having a boy and she really needs help.”
The mother was taken to the hospital where she gave birth to a healthy baby boy Friday morning, reported CNN.
The 911 operator who handled the call told reporters that she’s recommending Calise get an award for being calm in a scary situation.
Wearing an “I’m the Big Sister” T-shirt, Calise told the station at the hospital “It was really good to ride in the ambulance with mom.”
What a smart little girl! Thank God both mom and child are OK. It’s good to have a heroic “Big Sister” by your side.
