“A woman reaches under her bed in search of her two cats, but instead of her lovable furballs, she touches human skin, sending chills down her spine.” That may sound like a scene from a Hollywood horror film, but it was a real-life nightmare for a 61-year-old woman in Palm Springs, Florida, who discovered a burglar hiding under her bed.

The burglar, who was later identified as 25-year-old Christian Vatovec, fled the scene only to be arrested hours later. He is accused of taking a gold anklet and a digital camera, and is facing charges of burglary, grand theft and resisting arrest, according to media reports.

This story may not be enough reason for you to double check your living room every night, but if you are like me, you’ll probably do it tonight.
