Sometimes, as we travel the unpredictable roads of life, we end up in situations that we never expected to be. Yes, life can be an uncertain roller coaster.

We can only pray to be able to handle the curveballs life throws at us when we least expect it, like Don and Lorraine, who have withstand the test of adversity together, and are a true example of enduring love.

They’ve been married for over 25 years and raised three children. In 1995 Don was diagnosed with ALS. Five years later he was fitted with a ventilator leaving him unable to speak. That hurt him the most.

True to her vows, Lorraine stood by Don’s side, taking on the task of caretaker and managing their farm business as well. However, her biggest desire was to be able to speak with her husband once again.

With the help of Mick Ebeling, the founder of Not Impossible Labs, a company that creates solutions for people with disabilities, Don slowly learned how to speak with his eyes.

Finally, after 15 years, Don was able to tell Lorraine everything that had been on his mind all these years.

The emotional moment at the 5:21 mark had me reaching for tissues.
