There’s something mysterious flying over North Carolina skies. Sometimes it’s a series of inexplicable lights that change in formation, color and speed. Sometimes it’s a saucer-shaped object. Whatever it is, it has state officials and residents with their eyes, and cameras fixed on the skies.
The strange lights, which usually appear over Brown Mountain, have fueled an online discussion about the phenomena of UFOs, or unidentified flying objects.
Whatever the explanation, North Carolina officials are hoping to capitalize on these mysterious lights. An increasing number of people are making their way to scenic outlooks around Linville Gorge with the objective of spotting the strange phenomenon.
