When 26-year-old Yamini Karanam underwent brain surgery at the Skullbase Institute in Los Angeles, her surgeon, Dr. Hrayr Shahinian, never expected to make one extraordinary discovery.

Karanam, an Indiana University PhD student, started having difficulty comprehending things she read and heard, and when people talked in a crowded room she found it hard to understand what was happening.

Brain scans revealed a tumor in her brain. But when she underwent surgery, Dr. Shahinian, found something startling. The tumor was actually the woman’s “embryonic twin,” according to the ABC News clip below.

Wow! It was like something from the movie ‘Alien.’
