Footage captured by a CCTV camera in Shimla, India, shows the surprising scene of a monkey’s reaction after being provoked by a young man.

As you can see, the young man stops and shows the middle finger to one of the area’s famously belligerent monkeys who is sitting near a bench. But the monkey didn’t take well the gesture and responds with a karate-style knockout blow, sending the man to the ground.

The young man, however, appears to be OK after the attack as he gets up and walks off.

According to the Shimla India Guide website, these monkeys are known to “cause problems for both tourists and locals visiting the Jakhoo temple,” and advises tourists to “rent a stick” to use to threaten the unpleasant animals.

Well, this young man learned an important lesson. Don’t mess with monkeys!
