After spending months in a hospital and rehabilitation center where he has been battling cancer, 81-year-old Army veteran Clarence Blackmon returned home. But this North Carolina elderly felt compelled to call 911 –– not because he wast hurt, but because he was hungry.

Blackmon had no family living nearby and no way to get to the grocery store. So he decided to call 911 for help. His desperate plea touched the dispatcher’s heart. Minutes later, he witnessed a miracle.

“I thought, ‘Jesus, you’ve answered all those prayers,’” he told ABC news in the video below.
