Relationship breakups are always stressful to say the least. Divorces can be messy and extremely emotional. They can even turn vindictive, specially when your partner dumps you for someone else. This is one of those cases, and it will leave you in stitches.
We at Tabooya, love to share stories that make you laugh. So when we came across this one, we knew we had to share it with you. We’re not sure if this story is 100% true, but we certainly hope it is.
After 37 years of marriage, Jake told his wife that he was dumping her for his young secretary. But that’s not all. Jake gave Edith, his now ex-wife, just 3 days to move out because new girlfriend demanded that they live in Jake and Edith’s multi-million dollar home. Since Jake had better lawyers, he was able to prevail.
On the first day, Edith started packing her things and placed them in crates and boxes.
On the 2nd day, she called two movers to come and pick up her belongings.
By sunrise on the 3rd day, Edith was already up. She spent the day in their magnificent dining hall, feasting on delicious seafood, a jar of caviar and a bottle of her favorite Chardonnay while listening soft songs in the background.
After she had finished eating, she collected all the shrimp shells and dipped them into the jar of caviar. This divorce was about to get stinky. She then went into every room in the house and stuffed the shells into the holes of all the curtain rods. When finished, she cleaned the kitchen and left the house.
The next day, Jake moved his new girlfriend to the house. The first few days were joyful to the new couple.
But one day, they start to smell something stinky around the house. They check the vents for dead rodents, cleaned all the carpets, and placed air fresheners around the house. Nothing worked. So they decided to bring technicians to set off the gas canisters, and finally, replace the house’s very pricey wool carpeting. However, nothing changed. The rot smell was getting worst all over the house.
The situation was so unbearable that the maid and the repairmen quit working fro the frustrated couple. Even their closest friends refused to visit them.
Unable to deal with the stench of the house, they decided to sell the house. But buyers were spooked away by the foul odor and even realtors stopped returning their calls, despite cutting its price in half.
They were at a loss, and decided to purchase a new house. Jake was out of money after spending much on getting the house cleaned and all, so they had to borrow from the bank.
Days later, Edith called Jake to check out if he was doing fine. He told her about what happened to their rotting house. She ‘lamented’ hearing that and told Jake that she misses the old home badly and asked if he would agree giving her the house back in return of a reduced amount of the divorce settlement. Really?, Jake Thought to himself.
Believing that his ex-wife is unaware of how stinky their house was, he told Edith that she could get the house at a price that was about 1/10 of its worth but she has to sign the papers on that day. She accepted. In less than two hours, Jake’s attorneys delivered the paperwork.
The next day, Jake and his girlfriend hired a moving company. They were so happy to see them packing and transferring everything to their new home: their personal things, appliances, and furniture… and the curtain rods.
