“I’ve got two guns in my hand. I’m here by myself with my infant baby, can I please get a dispatcher out here immediately?” Is it OK to shoot him if he comes in this door?” Sarah asked the dispatcher.

“You have to do whatever you can do to protect yourself […] You do what you have to do to protect your baby,” dispatcher Diane Graham told her.

Seconds later, The man kicks down the door and charges against Sarah with a knife. She shot and killed him. The man was later identified as 24-year-old Justin Shane Martin.

After the incident, Sarah told reporters: “You have to make a choice, you or him. I chose my son over him.”
