A photograph showing the heartwarming moment a 92-year-old held her newborn great-granddaughter for the first time was shared on Reddit over the weekend and has gone viral, garnering hundreds of comments and shares.

The photo was taken by new dad Scott Martin from Washington. At just two days old, baby Penelope was clearly as taken with her nana as nana was with her.

“She was in love from the moment they saw each other,” Martin told the Huffington Post.

“I think my grandmother here has been holding on for this moment. This was one of the best days of my life,” Martin wrote on Reddit.

The moment was “especially emotional” because it would have been Millie’s 71st wedding anniversary with Martin’s grandfather, a WWII vet, who passed away in August. For this family, however, the circle of life couldn’t have been more beautiful.

But internet fame is nothing new for baby Penelope, whose 14-week ultrasound went viral in March after it appeared she was clapping during the exam while dad sang “If You’re Happy and You Know It.”
