Mother Cat Breaks Into Vet Clinic To Reunite With Her Lost Kittens

While some animals do not have the strongest maternal instincts, this devoted mother cat has quite a “tail” to tell about caring for her family.

Animal technicians at a New Zealand vet clinic had noticed the cat hanging around the clinic and trying to sneak into their office. But they realized the cat wasn’t just looking for a treat or a cuddle, she was trying to get to her kittens that had been abandoned there.

When the workers of Mill Road Vet Clinic arrived to work one morning, they were strangely surprised to find a cardboard box at their doorstep. From this tiny box was a litter of 3-4 week old tabby kittens, with no mother in sight to care for them. This was unusual for the clinic for such a thing to occur, and rather than take them into the SPCA, they decided to care for the kittens themselves until they were old enough to be adopted out to loving families.

But then, a strange thing occurred: Within a 24-hour time frame, a small tabby kept showing up the door of the facility, struggling to sneak in each and every time the door was open. The staff wondered what this was all about, but it wasn’t until this cat finally made it past someone not quick enough did they figure everything out. This cat was the mother of the kittens!

The staff carefully watched as the amazing mom cat immediately rejoined her tiny family. The purring and hugging delighted the entire staff.

In a moment that was filled with so much emotion for the cats and humans alike, watching this mother who was determined to be reunited with her children spoke volumes. According to the clinic staff, this happy family will remain together until the kittens are old enough to find homes. And the next time, you wonder about a mother’s love for her children, remember this amazing cat.
