“You can only perceive real beauty in a person as they get older.” – Anouk Aimee
In society, we tend to view elderly people as frail and always needing care. We often forget that elderly people have had a lifetime of experiences that they can share with us, and a lifetime’s worth of wisdom that can inspire us to live a much happier and more fulfilling life.
This anonymous open letter surfaced on the web over the weekend from a thoughtful mother to her daughter. The mother wrote this inspiring note for the day her daughter notices her mother aging for the first time.
It details moments we all have had when our parents get older ––the repeated stories, forgotten details, and minor inconveniences. But in the end, the things our parents did for us will overshadow the time we spend caring for them in old age.
Read this beautiful story below and share it with everyone you love.
The elders need to be honored and respected for all that they’ve done for you and for the society in general. Never ever forget the ones who have loved you.
