Hero Threw Himself In Front of Bullet to Save a Woman's Life in Paris attacks

Amid the carnage and destruction wreaked by the worst terrorist attack on the streets of Paris since WWII, moments of heroism are beginning to emerge.

Ludo Boumbas was part of a group of people attending a friend’s birthday party when the gunmen began to fire bullets at people sitting on the terrace of La Belle Epique bar in the Rue de Charonne in the 11th district shortly before 8.40pm on Friday.

In the chaos and bloodshed, Boumbas launched himself at the crazed fanatic gunman in a hail of bullets. Sadly, the 40-year-old died saving the life of a woman by throwing himself in front of a bullet fired by one of the terrorists.

The woman he saved is in a critical condition in hospital but friends have spoken about Ludo’s ‘selfless bravery’.

“Ludo threw himself forward to protect a girl and took the bullet. She was also shot, but she survived and is in hospital,” Ludo’s friends told MailOnline.

Mr Boumbas, 40, was a Congolese man who grew up in Lille, northern France, according to The Independent.

Friends described Mr Boumbas as someone who ‘loved people’ and traveling. “He was just one of life’s good, good people. He didn’t stand a chance,” they added.

According to the report, 19 people were killed at that location during the attack.
