This touching image of an elderly dog enjoying one last car ride has been tugging at the people’s heartstrings. The picture was recently posted on Reddit by owner Nicole Alderman, who was feeling sentimental about her beloved pet.

The touching picture captioned “an old dog’s last ride”, shows 15-year-old Libra from Florida, eyes closed and looking totally content as she leans out of the window. She died a few days later.

“I’m sorry everyone, I was feeling sentimental about my girl, Libra, that passed this time last year,” Nicole wrote on her post.

“Libra was 15 years old and I’ve had her since I was a kid,” Nicole explains, before adding: ‘She started getting very sick, having seizures, collapsing and unable to move or control her bladder. She was our baby and this was the hardest thing.”

The photo has gone viral ans has been viewed over 1,000 times. One comment reads: “You just ripped my heart into a million pieces.”

Another adds: “Such a beautiful moment. Thanks for sharing! Rest in peace pooch.”

And now I have to figure out how to stop sobbing…
