LA JOLLA, CA – A hungry baby sea lion wandered off the beach and into a fancy San Diego restaurant without a reservation, took one of the best seats in the house and sat down as if preparing to order a big plate of seafood.
Restaurant staff at The Marine Room called Sea World after discovering the pup, who was malnourished and dehydrated. The pup was taken to the park’s Animal Rescue Center where she’s being nursed back to health, according to media reports.

They think the little girl got in through an open back door. Entrees at the restaurant start at $28. It’s no clear how Marina, as she has been named, planned on paying.

This was the latest reported sighting of a stranded sea lion in California, where the mammals are increasingly being found on land in places they were never meant to be, partly because of changing weather conditions driving them ashore.
