While exploring the ocean near Socorro Island, nearly 250 miles south of Baja, Mexico, a diver stumbled across a whale shark trapped in a commercial fishing line. What he decided to do is truly amazing.

The rope had become a noose, slowly slicing through the animal’s enormous body. The diver knew he had to rescue him and approached the beast from above. Sensing the diver is there to help, the goliath lies still while the rope is cut.

it takes only 30 seconds for the diver to cut the ropes loose, setting the shark free. You can see the scars from the rope, which looked pretty bad and makes it clear that the rope has been there for a while. The shark slowly swims away and can now live without pain!
