One night, a man named Mark was leaving Metropolitan Ministries in Pasco County, Florida when he noticed a pile of trash outside the building. He decided to take a closer look and made a shocking discovery: two young boys covered by trash bags. They were filthy, only in diapers, and hungry.

When Pastor Ronnie Stewart and his wife Krystal of Refuge Church heard about the children, they jumped in to lend a helping hand. As it turned out, the boys are brothers. One is 7 months old and the other is 2 years old. That’s when they realized they belonged to a homeless family who often ate at the church’s soup kitchen.

They were covered in bug bites, and the skin on their feet was literally falling off. Krystal knew they couldn’t let the homeless boys suffer outside, so they convinced the parents to let them take the boys home with them for the night to provide them with much-needed care. They gladly accepted, and it was a decision that would change all of their lives forever.

“We are absolutely positive that God has placed them in our lives for a purpose and to love them as our own,” the couple wrote in their GoFundme page.
