Identical Twins Give Birth At The Same Exact Time

An incredible coincidence! I don’t think this will ever happen again in my lifetime.

Sarah Maruiz and Leah Rodgers, twin sisters who are both married, were surprised to find out that they were pregnant around the same time in 2015. They had planned to tell the other of their pregnancy at Thanksgiving, but they immediately knew once seeing each other in person.

“We’ve always lived in separate places, but [we] are very close… certainly there’s another connection at the twin level,” said Rogers.

Rodgers is only 11 minutes older than Maruiz – the two have always been close.

“She showed up to my front door and I welcomed her and [her husband] inside,” she continued. “I had this crazy twin intuition — I call it my twintuition… I knew she was pregnant, too!”

Their excitement continued to grow when they put their ultrasound pictures together after telling each other. They had not planned to have children at the same time, which had left family and friends quite astonished.

“We were jumping up and down, just so happy for each other. Everyone was just in shock,” said Maruiz.

However, what happened next had pushed everyone beyond belief.

The twins had given birth to their children at the exact same time, respective to their time zones. Rodgers first gave birth to her boy in Denver, Colorado at 1:18 AM, and Maruiz gave birth to her girl in La Jolla, California at 1:18 AM.

The twin moms are beyond excited from this coincidence and are now home from the hospital with their babies.

They’re now trying to find a time to visit each other so that these babies of the same age can meet each other. Maruiz thinks that Christmas would be the perfect time.

What are the chances of that?
