Marine Surprised When Disabled Son Walks Towards Him For The First Time


When Marine Staff Sgt. Jeremy Cooney returned home from Afghanistan, he was thrilled to see his wife and five children, including Michael who was born with cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder that affects part of the brain that controls body movement, muscle coordination, and balance.

But while Jeremy was on deployment in Afghanistan, Michael learned to stand up completely on his own. It all began when his teachers taught him to walk with a cane, but the 6-year-old stunned them all by taking a few steps on his own.Melissa and the rest of the family were shocked. However, they wanted to keep this a secret.

When Sgt. Cooney arrived at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, he was surprised to see his little boy running toward him. The footage went viral, touching hearts across the world.
