Young Child Of Fallen Soldier Asks World To Do THIS So Father Knows He's Remembered


The grieving child of a fallen soldier wants his dad to know that the love he has for him is so strong, it could light up the world. Now, three years after his soldier father’s death, 8-year-old Darren has a request for the community, and it requires no money or extraordinary effort.

Army Staff Sgt. Thomas Allen Baysore, Jr. of Clarksville, Tennessee, was killed in action in Afghanistan in September 2013. Before he died, Baysore would often tell his young son, Darren, “I love you to the moon and back,” the Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle reported.

Darren has been trying to send love to his dad since the day he was told of his father’s passing. Earlier this month, Darren’s family set up a Facebook page, Shining Love to Daddy Baysore, to urge people to turn on their porch lights on so his father can see the light all the way up in the sky.

“When we received the news that Tom had died in Afghanistan, Darren turned the porch light on so his father could see it from the moon. That’s where he believes his dad is,” his mother, Jamie Baysore told the Leaf-Chronicle. “He wants Dad to know his son is sending his love.”

The support he has received from the online community seems have given Darren a sense of comfort. It won’t bring his father back, but it may bring back a spark of faith, which is a possession no child should ever lose.

“Thank you all for your support maybe this is what our family has needed,” Jamie wrote on Facebook
