When this young boy and his little sister decided to sell some candy outside a Target store in Rowland Heights, California, they never expected to be harassed for doing something noble. But that’s exactly what happened when a woman confronted them in front of everyone.

A customer named Andy happened to be exiting Target when she witnessed a confrontation by the doorway. It was so upsetting that she starting recording it on her phone.

The video she captured shows an elderly woman approaching the children before loudly scolding them. “Where is your license? Have you asked permission to be here?” she screams. The little boy quietly answers her, explaining that “he’s only trying to make some money.”

The woman then threatens the boy telling him that “the cops are coming and he’ll be thrown in jail.” The harassment became so relentless that the boy starts crying. That’s when a man named Jay Lopez approaches the woman — he has had enough of her cruelty, and he’s ready to put an end to it.

“I’m buying it all,” the man says, referring to the candy. “I’m gonna buy it all, and I’m gonna give it away to all these people. You should be ashamed of yourself.” He then proceeded to buy all $80 worth of candy.

“There are good people and bad people in this world and I saw it first hand,” Andy wrote on Facebook. “Screw all you ignorant people that have to complain about something.”

Andy posted the video to Facebook where it has gone viral with over 5 million views and 700,000 shares.
