In a surprise move that rippled across Hollywood this morning, Angelina Jolie had filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, celebrity news website TMZ has reported.

Jolie cited irreconcilable differences in the legal documents. The couple, who’ve been together since 2004 but only recently married in August of 2014, have six children together.

CNN quoted sources saying that “Jolie has been extremely upset with Pitt’s parenting style, and the divorce has a lot to do with how he’s raising the kids.”

According to the report, Angelina became “fed up” with Brad’s consumption of weed and possibly alcohol. She also believes Pitt has “an anger problem” and felt it became dangerous for the children.

Jolie is asking for physical custody of all six children. The 41-year-old mother did, however, ask the judge to give Pitt joint legal custody and visitation rights.

In the past, the couple has talked about their parenting styles. Brad admitted during a 2015 interview with E! that Angelina works the hardest at being a good mom.

While Jolie listed the date of separation as September 15th, so far neither Jolie nor Pitt has commented publicly about the divorce.

However, Jolie’s lawyer released the following statement: “This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.”
