Marriage is a bond between a man and a woman that cannot be broken. This story shows exactly that.

NBA star, Jrue Holiday of the New Orleans Pelicans, and his wife Lauren, former U.S women’s soccer star, found out earlier this year that they were going to have a baby. This was wonderful news for the family. Unfortunately, earlier this month doctors discovered a devastating brain tumor on Lauren.

For Jrue, the choice clear. Upon hearing the horrible news, he told the NBA that he needed to take care of his wife. On September 4th the New Orleans Pelicans released the news that their star guard was leaving the team.

It must be tough, leaving the thing you’ve worked hardest for your whole life. For Jrue, the decision was easy. He says, “My family comes before basketball.” This shows a lot about the kind of man and husband Holiday is.

As for Lauren, she is scheduled to have surgery in six weeks, after giving birth to her baby girl in October. The family have decided to keep their privacy and are not disclosing any information on the situation.
