When we send our kids to school we want them to be safe and away from harm.

Maryland school bus driver, Reneita Smith, was going through her normal routine, picking up kids in the morning and taking them safely to school. On the way to school one morning, the school bus caught fire unexpectedly.

Smith had to think quickly, she had to get the kids out of the bus before matters got worst. She was able to get all 20 students away from the fire and onto a safe area. Smith even went back to the bus while it was gushing with flames to make sure no kid was left behind.

Reneita, with two kids of her own, stated that, “It’s my job to save them.” She made sure that no parent had to suffer a terrible loss.

Thanks to the quick actions Smith displayed, all the kids were saved from that burning school bus. She was greatly appreciated. One of the parents, Fazul Kabir, posted on Facebook, “A big THANK YOU to our school bus driver Reneita Smith who just saved 20 elementary school kids from a bus fire that completely destroyed the bus.”
