3 Yrs After Massive Stroke, Randy Travis Sings ‘Amazing Grace’ At Country Music Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony

In 2013, Country music star Travis suffered a serious stroke. Since then, he has been largely unable to speak, much less sing. Fortunately, doctors say the country icon’s recovery prognosis is good. At the announcement of his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in late March, his wife, Mary Davis, called his progress a series of “giant baby steps.”

Three years later, at the 2016 Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Sunday night, which was filled with touching tributes, once-in-a-lifetime musical performances, and stirring speeches, no moment was more special than when Randy Travis stepped up to the microphone to sing

Watching him lead the audience at the Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony in a verse of “Amazing Grace” was unexpected and also incredibly beautiful. Although he faltered on a few words, Travis’ brief performance showed his tenacity and bravery as an artist, as a country music fan, and as a human being.

Travis set the perfect example for all of us living through the trials of life. When everything seems impossible, it’s the perfect time to smile and know you’ve got this.

Enjoy, and please share and spread some smiles!
