Sirga is a beautiful and fully-grown lioness that spends her days be as happy as she can be. However, things weren’t all so wonderful for Sirga. She was abandoned by her mother at only 10-days old. Hence, the rest of her pride left her, and Sirga had no chance of survival.

Valentine Gruener had found Sirga dehydrated, starving and only moments away from certain death. Gruener decided to take the lioness cub under his wing at the Modisa Wildlife Project in Botswana, Africa. He nursed her back to health, and, as Sirga began to grow, the two created an inseparable bond.

Each time Gruener visits Sirga, she can’t help show him affection. Sirga will never forget the moment Gruener stepped into her life, and it’s clear that she’s more than grateful.
