Rude Costumer Mocks Special Needs Child, Waiter Steps In With A Beautiful Response

Some people can be extremely rude, and it’s hard to know why that is. A waiter took action when a costumer decided to make a rude comment about a special needs kid.

Kim Castillo is a regular at Laurenzo’s in her hometown of Houston, Texas. She and her family went out to enjoy a nice dinner at Laurenzo’s where they were greeted by their favorite waiter, Michael Garcia.

Michael sat the family, including Kim’s 5-year-old daughter, Milo, who has Down Syndrome, in a booth. That’s when Milo became restless and noisy.

There was a family sitting adjacent to where Kim’s family was at and started complaining about the noise. They requested to be moved to another table, saying that the 5-year-old was disturbing their dinner. Michael moved them with no problem, that was until he overheard someone at the table saying, “special needs children need to be special somewhere else.” Even worse, Kim had heard the rude comment also.

This instantly triggered something in Michael and he decided to do something about it. He went up to the costumer and said, “How could you say that? How could you say that about a beautiful 5-year-old angel?” After that he walked away and refused to serve them anymore.

Kim was grateful that Michael stood up for the family, even if it meant risking losing his job. He did what was right and defended the poor helpless child.

Fortunately the restaurant stood behind Michael and thought he did the right thing.

Thanks for standing up and doing the right thing Michael. A truly inspirational act.
