A couple’s baby was born premature and it brought fear to them, thinking that she might not make it. But every doubt was gone when they notice the baby girl was more than happy to be alive.

Lauren and David Vinje were expecting a beautiful baby girl, but she came sooner than expected. This made the parents grow very concerned. This was until they saw a huge smile on their baby girl, Freya, who was more than happy to be on this earth. Her smile gave the parents hope. It reassured them that she would be okay.

“Our first daughter at five days old. 3 lbs. 14 oz., she was happy to be alive! This picture was one I looked at often to get me through the ups and downs of our NICU days. Life is so precious,” Lauren Vinje tells Facebook page, Love What Matters.

The photo got a lot of traction and prompted other parents to share their stories about their premature babies. It brought a sense of reassurance to other parents knowing that they aren’t going through it alone.

Freya will soon be turning two and is healthier than ever. Her mother told news, “We go to the store and she’s the friendliest little girl and she says hi to everybody. She’s so fun. She’s so happy. That picture at 5 days old, you can see her little personality and you look at her now, and she hasn’t changed. She’s still the happy little girl in that photo.”
