A family recently came across an abandoned kitten and decided to bring it into their home, and he fit right in!

Matthew Davis was taking his little girl to daycare one day when he noticed a small kitten. The poor kitten was crying and soaked from all the rain that came down that day.

In a recent interview with The Dodo, Mathew’s wife Jessica said, “My daughter said, ‘There’s a sad kitty outside, daddy.’ He said he sounded so sad on that porch and it broke his heart. When he walked back to the car, the kitten followed him. He scooped him up and put him in his jacket.”

The first thing the Davis family did was go door-to-door, trying to find the owners of the poor kitten. They soon came to find out that the 12-week-old kitten had been abandoned. The family, left brokenhearted, decided to keep him. They named the kitten Doug.

Doug quickly adapted to his new home. He loves to cuddle with everyone and especially with the family’s youngest member, Rowan.

“He just instantly became part of the family,” Jessica said.

“Rowan is fascinated by Doug and Doug is so patient and friendly with Rowan,” Jessica said.

Thank goodness this family was there for the poor kitten. Now the family gained a new member and Doug gained a loving family.
